Setting Up For A Great Approach

This par 5 is made for making you feel good - it's not too long, and there are minimal hazards to get you in touble.

Off the tee, feel free to give it everything you've got, just making sure you avoid that annoying bunker on the left side of the fairway. The fairway undulates a lot, so don't expect a lot of roll. Big hitters can get home in two, while most of us can get close enough to be in position for a short approach shot and a chance at par or better. Pick your target and swing away, playing for position.

Be bold on the approach shot, taking into account that the fairway rises and the hole plays a bit longer than the yardage would suggest. The green is quite deep and slopes back to front, so a play to the centre of the green is always a good bet. This is the key shot in scoring well on this hole.

The green has a number of up-and-down slopes to negotiate, so getting as close as possible with that approach shot will save you a lot of grief, and a stroke or two.
